A visit to Lübeck

After 3 months in the UK, I am back in Deutschland. This is one of my favorite places in the world and always enjoy my stay. Cathi is joining me next week. She is traveling in England with her sister for 2 weeks.

In 1980, I was an exchange student here, and it profoundly impacted my life. Experiencing the world beyond the US and gaining an understanding and tolerance of other cultures helped me move beyond the narrow mindset I was raised with.

Although I struggled with alcohol until I was 22 and made many mistakes, I often reflected on my experiences as a student in Germany. Over the past 14 years, Cathi and I have visited Europe and Germany numerous times, and I have always eagerly anticipated my time here. I will share more about this region of Germany as I explore it further.
